| i've narrowed the choice down to these 2 and it's hard to choose. i'm a huge beretta fan (i own a 92fs) and know the put out a good product. the xd has much more accessories, and more safety features, but i just cant keep my eyes off the storm. if anyone owns either of these pistols, your opinions would be great. so, which one is the better choice and why? thanks :) |

| I like both firearms. I bought a Px4 Storm in 9mm back in 05. It was a nice gun. After a while I kind of started to dislike the trigger pull in the Storm. Other wise the Storm is an great handgun. I also currently own 2 XDs. One in 9mm and another in .45acp. I like them much better than the Storm. The trigger pull is constant. I also like having the grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, striker indicator.
I do think the XD is an overall better fit to my hand and I would choose them over anything else in protecting my family and home.
On a side note, I traded my Storm for a 9mm Ruger SR9 just last year. Very wise trade after shooting the Ruger.
What it will come down to is what feels best in your hand, which gun do you think functions better. I know you will have an easier time finding a holster for the XD. |

| It all boils down to personal preference. This is something only you can decide. Which do you want more? If you have the money get both. |

| A few weeks ago I walking into my local fun shop looking to buy an XD, but there was a Smith and Wesson rep there, and he let me shoot a M&P for free. In my opinion it shot way better than the XD that I've fired before. So I ended up walking out with a M&P9, and a rebate for $50 and 2 free magazines. Just be warned that the M&P has a very gritty take up on the trigger until it breaks in. But after that it's smooth like glass. Oh, and not to mention the Smith's have a lifetime warranty. |

| I like the XD over the beretta, also check Smith M&P. |

| SPRINGFIELD XD
I'm really impressed with the Springfield XD, the grip and feel of the gun really can't be beaten. The 1911 style safety on the handle is really assuring in my opinion. I wouldn't purchase the Beretta, I've never owned or shot the storm but I've owned the 92 fs and a few other models and i have to say that frankly I'm not impressed. A few people mentioned the M&P and i have to say that is an excellent firearm as well . If you choose the XD you certainly won't regret it. |

| Are you stuck on a 9mm? There is a reason why police stopped carrying them around here. They shoot to fast, lots of dear get hit around here in Indiana, the police would get called and the dear would still be alive. It would take 3-4 shots with the 9mm before the dear would die. With all that said I like the SPRINGFIELD XD come with lots of options, I would get in a .40 cal. Ammo is not that much more than 9mm....Good luck |

| Both are good pistols. However, besides being safer and having a lot more accessories available, the Springfield XD-9 is more rugged and reliable. The Springfield has withstood torture tests that would ruin most other handguns:
